Intended to facilitate the identification of the 50 species of amphibians and reptiles occurring on the Venezuelan islands of Margarita, Coche and Cubagua. In the first section is a description of the major types of habitat present, geological history, zoogeography, conservation and threats. The second section deals with taxonomy, presenting a description of each class, order, suborder or family, each of which is followed by an identification key. Finally there is a section on venomous snakebite.
