Natural habitat
This baboon spider inhabits the scrubland regions of Kenya, Africa. When captive, adults require a 10 gallon enclosure.
Behavior
Very aggressive, and VENOMOUS - do not handle. They have 1/2" fangs.
Captive environment
Provide dark hiding places for this species. Keep a large area of moist moss available. Change moist moss every 4-5 days.
Temperature
Maintain day temperature range between 78-83 degrees F. Maintain night temperature range between 74-78 degrees F.
Humidity
This species requires moderate levels of humidity.
Water requirements
Use a small shallow bowl with saturated cotton or similar.
Nutritional requirements
This species is a carnivore (meat eater). Eats most insects, crickets and will eat meal worms. Also feeds on small mammals such as baby mice. Eats various frogs and small lizards as well as snakes.
