Natural habitat
This arboreal spider occupies forest habitats throughout Trinidad. This species is VENOMOUS. When captive, adults require a 5 gallon enclosure.
Behavior
Very quick and aggressive - VENOMOUS !!!
Captive environment
Provide dark hiding places for this species. Likes humid burrow (plastic cup with top hole/moist moss). Change moist moss every 4-5 days.
Temperature
Maintain day temperature range between 78-82 degrees F. Maintain night temperature range between 72-76 degrees F.
Humidity
This species requires moderate levels of humidity.
Water requirements
Use a small shallow bowl with saturated cotton or similar.
Nutritional requirements
This species is a carnivore (meat eater). Eats most insects, crickets and flies as well as some meal worms occasionally. Also feeds on small mammals such as pink baby mice.
